Dialer & Call Manager — Privacy Policy
At Lab Mobile Product, we
recognize that privacy is significant. This Privacy Policy applies to Contacts:
Dialer & Call Manager (the "App"), published under the developer
name "Lab Mobile Product".
This Policy explains what
information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices available to
you. By installing or using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
Where a feature asks for it
directly — such as contacts you create or edit — that information is provided
voluntarily by you.
Device and account information
- device model, OS version, and app version
- device account information, used to support contact
syncing with accounts already set up on your device
- general diagnostic and crash information.
Call, contact, and telephony data
Because the App provides dialer,
Caller ID, call log, and contact-management features, it may access and
process:
- call log entries — phone numbers, call type, timestamps,
and duration
- contacts stored on your device — names, numbers, and
related fields
- phone state and number information needed to place,
answer, and manage calls
- contacts you create, edit, or sync through the App.
This data is processed on your
device to power the requested calling, Caller ID, and contact features. It is
not sold and is not shared with advertising or analytics partners.
2. App Permissions
The App may request the
following Android permissions, only as needed for the feature they support:
- CALL_PHONE
- ANSWER_PHONE_CALLS
- READ_PHONE_STATE
- READ_BASIC_PHONE_STATE
- READ_CALL_LOG
- WRITE_CALL_LOG
- MANAGE_OWN_CALLS
- MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS
- BLUETOOTH_CONNECT
- FOREGROUND_SERVICE
- FOREGROUND_SERVICE_PHONE_CALL
- USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT
- READ_CONTACTS
- WRITE_CONTACTS
- GET_ACCOUNTS
- READ_SYNC_SETTINGS
- WRITE_SYNC_SETTINGS
- RECORD_AUDIO
- SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW
- WRITE_SETTINGS
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS
- VIBRATE
- SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM
- RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED
- WAKE_LOCK

- ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE
3. Sensitive Permissions, Explained
These permissions are only
requested when needed for the feature you're using, and we show an in-app
explanation before asking for them.
Dialer, Caller ID & Call Management
- Place Calls (CALL_PHONE): lets the App initiate calls
directly, so you can call a contact or number without switching apps.
- Answer Calls (ANSWER_PHONE_CALLS): lets the App answer an
incoming call on your behalf when you use its own incoming-call screen.
- Phone State (READ_PHONE_STATE / READ_BASIC_PHONE_STATE):
lets the App detect call state — ringing, active, idle — to run Caller ID and
the in-call screen correctly.
- Call Log (READ_CALL_LOG / WRITE_CALL_LOG): lets the App
read and update your call history so it can show recent calls and identify
callers.
- Manage Own Calls (MANAGE_OWN_CALLS): lets the App manage
calls placed through its own in-app calling connection.
- Audio Settings (MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS): lets the App
adjust call audio, such as switching between speaker, earpiece, or a connected
device.
- Bluetooth (BLUETOOTH_CONNECT): lets the App connect to
Bluetooth devices you've already paired — headsets, earbuds, or a car system —
to route call audio to them.
- Full-Screen Notifications (USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT): lets
the App show a full-screen incoming-call interface, including over the lock
screen.
- Display Over Other Apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): lets the
App show Caller ID or call-related overlays on top of other apps during a call.
Contacts & Sync
- Contacts (READ_CONTACTS / WRITE_CONTACTS): lets the App
match incoming numbers to your saved contacts and let you create or edit
contact entries.
- Accounts & Sync Settings (GET_ACCOUNTS /
READ_SYNC_SETTINGS / WRITE_SYNC_SETTINGS): lets the App recognize accounts
already configured on your device and manage how your contacts sync with them.
Microphone
- Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO): used only for voice-based
features you actively choose to use, such as voice search, voice commands, or
optional call-audio functionality you explicitly enable. Audio is not recorded
continuously or in the background.
4. Default Phone App (Dialer) Role
You may optionally set Contacts:
Dialer & Call Manager as your device's default Phone (Dialer) app. This is
a system-level choice made through Android Settings, and can be changed back at
any time.
When set as the default dialer,
the App may — solely to handle your calls:
- display the incoming-call screen and answer or reject
calls at your direction;
- keep a dedicated foreground service
(FOREGROUND_SERVICE_PHONE_CALL) running to keep call handling reliable;
- route call audio to Bluetooth devices you've paired; and
- show a full-screen incoming-call notification, including
over the lock screen.
These capabilities are used
solely to provide calling functionality — never for advertising, analytics, or
any purpose unrelated to placing, answering, and managing your calls.
5. Other Permissions and How They're Used
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS: call, missed-call, and reminder
notifications.
- VIBRATE: vibration feedback for calls and alerts.
- WRITE_SETTINGS: lets the App adjust certain device
settings related to calling, such as ringer behavior, at your request.
- SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM: schedules time-sensitive reminders,
such as callback alerts, accurately.
- RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: restarts relevant call-handling
services after your device reboots.
- WAKE_LOCK: briefly keeps the device awake to complete a
task like handling an incoming call.
- INTERNET / ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: network communication
and connectivity checks, used for updates, ads, and backend verification where
applicable.
None of these permissions, by
themselves, collect call log or contact content.
6. Advertising and Analytics Identifiers
The App may use Android's
advertising and attribution APIs to support ad delivery and measurement,
including:
- Advertising ID (AD_ID / ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID): a
resettable identifier used for advertising.
- Attribution API (ACCESS_ADSERVICES_ATTRIBUTION): used for
privacy-preserving ad attribution.
- Install Referrer (BIND_GET_INSTALL_REFERRER_SERVICE):
helps us understand how the App was installed, for analytics purposes.
- Push messaging (Firebase Cloud Messaging, via
com.google.android.c2dm.permission.RECEIVE): used to deliver notifications to
your device.
You can reset or limit your
advertising identifier, and opt out of personalized ads, through your device's
privacy settings.
7. App-Private Permission
The App declares a custom
permission scoped only to itself (ending in
DYNAMIC_RECEIVER_NOT_EXPORTED_PERMISSION), used to secure its internal
broadcast receivers so other apps cannot interact with them. This is a
system-level security measure and does not itself collect any data.
8. How We Use Information
- to provide and maintain dialer, Caller ID, call log, and
contact features;
- to sync contacts with accounts you've set up on your
device, where enabled;
- to send notifications and reminders;
- to keep the App reliable, secure, and functioning across
device restarts;
- to diagnose and fix crashes or technical issues;
- to display advertising where applicable, and measure its
performance;
- to comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
9. Data Sharing
We do not sell your call log or
contact content. We may share limited information with:
- service providers who help us operate the App (hosting,
analytics, crash reporting, advertising);
- advertising partners, limited to advertising identifiers
and non-content usage data, where ads are shown;
- authorities, where required by law;
- a successor business, in the event of a merger,
acquisition, or asset sale.
10. Data Retention
Call log, contacts, and app
preferences are processed and stored on your device and remain there until you
clear app data, remove them individually, or uninstall the App. We don't keep a
separate copy of your call log or contact content on our servers. Diagnostic
and advertising-related data is retained only as long as needed for the
purposes described above.
11. Security
We use reasonable
administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information,
including encrypted transport where applicable. No method of transmission or
storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
12. Your Choices
- manage or revoke any permission at any time through your
device's app settings;
- change your default Phone app back to another dialer at
any time;
- reset or limit your advertising identifier through device
privacy settings;
- turn notifications on or off;
- clear local app data or uninstall the App;
- contact us to ask questions or request deletion of any
data we hold about you.
13. Children's Privacy
The App is intended for a
general audience and is not directed at children under 13, or the minimum age
required by applicable law in your region. We do not knowingly collect personal
data from children under that age. If you believe a child has provided us with
personal data, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
14. International Data Transfers
Your information may be
processed in a country other than where you live. Where required, we apply
appropriate safeguards for cross-border data transfers.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy
Policy from time to time. We'll update the effective date above when we do, and
provide additional notice for significant changes where required by law.
