Contacts: Calls & Caller ID old- Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Lab Mobile Product (“we,” “us,”
“our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information in connection with
Contacts: Calls & Caller ID (the “App”) and the services it provides (the
“Service”). Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given to them
in our Terms of Service.
By using the App, you consent to the collection, use, and sharing of
information as described in this Policy. If you share information about someone
else with us — for example, saving their number as a contact or reporting it as
spam — you confirm they’re aware you’ve done so. You can opt out of certain
uses of your information at any time, as explained below.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Profile Information
If the App lets you set up a profile — for instance, to enable
Caller ID for your own number — we collect what you provide, such as your name
and phone number, which we verify via an SMS code or an automated “missed call”
check. You may optionally add a photo, additional contact details, or other
profile information. We may supplement this with publicly available or
third-party demographic information.
1.2 Data From Using the App
As you install and use the App, we may collect technical and usage
data from your device, including:
•
IP address, device identifiers,
manufacturer, and model
•
SIM and telephony state, where
needed for call-related features
•
device address book, where
Caller ID or contact-matching features need it
•
advertising identifiers and
ad-interaction events
•
operating system, connection
type, and app version
•
logs and limited metadata about
calls placed or received through the App (numbers, timestamps, duration) — not
call recordings or content
•
spam reports, tags, or
categorizations associated with a number, contributed by you or other users
•
general usage statistics, such
as which features you use and how often.
Data that can’t reasonably be linked back to you isn’t treated as
personal information under this Policy.
1.3 Third-Party Sign-In
If you choose to register or log in using a third-party account
(such as a social or email provider), that service may share limited
information with us — like a display name or profile photo — to let the App
work with it. You control what’s shared through that provider’s own settings,
and we never store your third-party account password.
1.4 Community-Contributed Data
Caller ID and spam-detection features rely partly on data
contributed by our users — for example, when someone tags a number as a
business, spam, or fraud risk, or suggests a name for an unlisted number. If
you use these features, the information you submit may be shared with other
users through the App’s shared directory. Even if you don’t use the App
yourself, we may process limited information tied to your phone number (such as
how often it’s reported as spam) that we receive from users who interact with
your number, to support Caller ID and spam-protection features.
2. How We Use This
Information
We use the
information above to:
•
power Caller ID, spam
detection, call-log, and dialer/contact-management features — matching a number
against our database or your device contacts
•
support optional number lookup,
where the underlying data is public or was made searchable by its owner
•
maintain a community-driven
spam directory and improve detection accuracy over time
•
send you service notifications
and respond to your inquiries
•
show relevant advertising and
measure how well it performs
•
comply with legal obligations,
investigate misuse, and protect the security of the App and its users
•
generally maintain,
troubleshoot, and improve the Service.
We may also
use aggregated or de-identified data for internal analytics and may share this
type of non-identifying data with third parties.
3. How We Share Information
We may disclose
information:
•
to comply with a law,
regulation, or valid legal process
•
to protect our legal rights,
enforce our agreements, or investigate misuse
•
to protect the safety of users
or the public, where lawful to do so
•
with vetted service providers
who support the App — infrastructure, analytics, bug-testing, ad measurement,
and payment processing — under contractual limits requiring them to protect it
and use it solely for the agreed purpose
•
with advertising and analytics
partners, who may use cookies or device identifiers for measurement and ad
delivery
•
with an acquiring company, in
the event of a merger, consolidation, or sale of our business or assets.
We do not sell
call log or contact content to advertising partners.
4. Unlisting and Ad Choices
If you don’t
want your name or number to appear in Caller ID or number-lookup results, you
can ask us to exclude it by contacting us at the email below. We’ll retain the
minimum information needed to keep honoring that request going forward.
You can also
limit or opt out of ad targeting at any time through your device’s advertising
and privacy settings.
5. Security and
International Data Transfers
Providing
the Service may involve transferring, processing, and storing information in
countries other than your own, including through cloud infrastructure and
third-party processors. Those countries may not offer the same data-protection
standards as your home country; by using the App, you agree to this kind of
transfer, consistent with this Policy.
We
apply reasonable physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect
your information, including secured servers and access limited to authorized
personnel. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we
can’t guarantee absolute protection.
6. Accessing and
Updating Your Information
You
can ask us to correct, update, or delete personal information we hold about
you, and we may also do this on our own initiative if we discover it’s
inaccurate or outdated. These rights are available to you whether or not you
actively use the App, to the extent required by applicable law. Contact us
using the details below to make a request.
7.
Minors
The Service is not directed at, or
designed to attract, anyone under the age of legal consent in their
jurisdiction, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone
under that age. We encourage parents and guardians to supervise their children’s
use of calling and messaging apps. If we learn we’ve collected data from a
minor without appropriate consent, we’ll take reasonable steps to delete or
anonymize it — contact us at labmobileproduct@gmail.com if you believe this has
occurred.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this
Privacy Policy periodically, with or without separate notice. For material
changes, we’ll notify you through the App or another appropriate channel.
Continuing to use the App after a change takes effect means you accept the
updated Policy.
9.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar
technologies — including mobile app identifiers — to recognize you across
sessions, understand how the App is used, improve security, measure
performance, and support advertising. You can manage cookie preferences through
your device or browser settings; using the App means you consent to this use of
cookies as described here.
